The Baseball Assistance Team is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that provides for those members of the "baseball family" with financial, psychological or physical burdens. Since 1986, B.A.T. has awarded more than 2,700 grants and over 23 million dollars to restore health, pride and dignity to members of the "baseball family," who include former Major League players, Minor League players, umpires, scouts, coaches, former managers, Negro League players, athletic trainers, front office personnel, women from the professional baseball league and their spouses.
